Preparing for Your Photo Shoot
What to dress the little darlings in.....
Complement But Don't Copy
When choosing outfits for a family shoot, I highly suggest that family members choose coordinating colors and palettes and avoid having a "match-match" look. For example, dressing family members in different shades of earth tones or using pops of complementary colors - think blue and pink and/or orange and turquoise-paired with neutrals. Although I process lot of photgraphs in black and white, I always provide some color photos as well and it is helpful if some thought goes in to chasing outfits.
And what to dress the big ones in....
Love What You Wear
Above all, make sure everyone can move comfortably in their clothes and that they feel special, pretty, etc in their outfits. Everyone should wear something that is reflective of them. And, do not wait to the last minute to make outfit choices! I have gone this route many a times for my own family shoots and it has added a HUGE layer of stress that could have easily been avoided with some careful planning!
